OxCME Fund-Raising Event

Preparing the next generation of clinical educators

This event has been postponed to 30.04.2021 due to the Coronavirus outbreak

Update on 25.03.2020: In the current climate of the Coronavirus pandemic, OxCME has decided to postpone our fundraising and development event due to take place on April 24th 2020, until next year. The venue, Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, Abingdon, Oxfordshire has kindly agreed to allow us to provisionally reserve Friday 30th April 2021.

Most of our speakers and facilitators have already kindly agreed to reserve this date and be available to speak and lead workshops.

We have taken the decision to postpone for a whole year in order to allow for sufficient time for Covid-19 to be under control in the UK and for clinicians to have adapted to the new normal sufficiently to be able to allocate time to looking at preparing the next generation of medical educators.

OxCME will be in contact with those who had booked places to arrange for a refund, where appropriate. If you would like to make a donation to the charity for which we were fund-raising, please follow the link to Medic-to-Medic.  Please enter ‘OxCME donation’ in the Any Other Notes box and if you are a taxpayer you can give gift aid.

OxCME will be investigating options for online CPD events as well as face-to-face workshops. Please contact us if you would like to join our mailing list.

Registration is now open for the 2020 OxCME Fund-Raising event taking place on 24 April. This year we have keynotes from Prof. Trevor Gibbs, Prof. Ashok Handa, Dr Kathleen M. Quinlan and a number of experienced speakers from primary care, the research community and the charity sector.  In addition, participants are invited to choose their workshop out of three choices.

The raised excess money will be donated to Medic-to-Medic; a charity supporting the development of Medical Education in Malawi and Uganda. All speakers and the organizing committee have kindly waived their fees to support this worthy cause.
