Feedback Masterclass
Online & Classed-based

The importance of feedback in medical education is well established, and there are several models available to trainers for providing feedback effectively. Each model has its own strengths and limitations. In practice, however, we have observed that trainers, often faced with complex situations and limited time, may rely on one or two feedback models they are most familiar with. While this approach may be convenient, it can reduce the overall effectiveness of feedback and fail to address the needs of the learner. This is because the choice of model is typically based on what suits the trainer, rather than what would be most beneficial for the trainee.

This half-day, highly interactive Masterclass provides an opportunity to explore feedback in clinical education in depth. It will introduce you to the CoRPuS Grid tool, allowing you to practice using it in real-world scenarios. You’ll also have the chance to refine your skills in delivering feedback in challenging situations.

Who should participate in the Masterclass?
-
Clinical and educational supervisors
-
Experienced medical educators and clinical tutors
-
Senior clinicians leading MDTs and supervising other healthcare professionals
-
Senior trainees with teaching roles in clinical settings
Course Methodology
Working with experts in the field, participants will gain an understanding of key educational theories and feedback models, and learn how to apply these frameworks to deliver effective feedback in complex clinical situations. Through a blend of short presentations, small-group discussions, and simulation-based learning, experienced facilitators will guide participants in refining their skills and building confidence. By the end of the Masterclass, participants will be equipped to use a broader range of feedback models in a more learner-centred way.
